Janel Norton is iRest Level 1 trained, informed by the teachings of Richard Miller and the Integrative Restoration Institute.
In an iRest Yoga Nidra, also known as "yogic sleep," you will be fully bolstered up and nestled into your most comfortable position (no physical asanas or postures are done during this practice). Janel will put you through a guided meditation that involves body sensing, intention setting, and idenifying your inner resource while allowing the mind and body to come into a deep state of relaxation.
iRest Yoga Nidra was developed by clinical psychologist, author, researcher and yogic scholar Richard Miller, PhD over the past 26 years. iRest (Integrative Restoration) has had extensive research and is used at over 30 VA and military facilities across the United States. In June 2010, iRest was endorsed by the US Army Surgeon General and Defense Centers of Excellence as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). iRest helps the mind and body intergrate and heal unsolved traumas and issues that are present in the mind and body.
